Admission with/without IELTS/PTE
When applying to universities in popular destinations like the USA, UK, Australia, Canada, and Malaysia, students typically need to meet specific English proficiency requirements, such as achieving a certain IELTS score. The Pearson Test of English (PTE) has also gained popularity, especially in Australia and Canada, where it is widely accepted by universities. Additionally, some European countries recognize PTE and the Duolingo English Test as valid assessments for language proficiency.
However, there is an alternative pathway for students who may not have taken any of these standardized English tests. Many universities offer admission based on a Medium of Instruction (MOI) certificate, which verifies that the student’s previous education was conducted in English. In some cases, universities might also conduct their internal English proficiency test to assess the student’s language skills. This flexibility allows students to pursue higher education abroad even if they have not taken widely recognized English proficiency exams, making international education more accessible to a diverse range of applicants.
